D-List allows transcriptionists to consolidate their own contact information for medical providers, hospitals, and other places of interest into one user-friendly program. It enables transcriptionists to save time by eliminating the need to repeatedly browse websites or thumb through pages to find names of providers, addresses, etc.  D-List has a wildcard search feature to narrow the search to specific information in the database.  Once the appropriate data is selected, with just the click of the mouse, instantly that data can be inserted directly into the medical report!  

TO BEGIN BUILDING YOUR DATABASE:  The easiest way to build your database is one doctor/place at a time.  When you have to research for a name, add it once to D-List where it will be stored and you will no longer have to worry about finding the name again or typing it into the report manually.  It takes just a few extra moments to do, but it will eventually save you time as you build your database.  However, if you already have a list of medical providers in a spreadsheet, D-List can import that directly into the program--import hundreds or thousands of entries without having to type anything!  You can even import/export tables between other D-List users!

Specific features include:

  • A (*) wildcard search feature that narrows the search.  This is extremely useful when the entire name is not audible or just narrowing the search without having to type in the complete name.   Search can be conducted by any of the data fields:  Title, last name, first name, specialty, address, or city--much more versatility than any website.  And unlike searching on the web, our program allows you to search for ANY string of characters in ANY data field.
     
  • Allows you to categorize databases by any way you choose.  For example, categorizing by account (creating a different database for each medical facility you transcribe for), is the most effective.  You can easily switch between account databases if needed.
     
  • Different insert options.  After selecting which entry to insert, you can choose from a selection of buttons on how to insert it into the document.  For instance, you can choose to insert only the last name, full name (with or without middle initial), name formatted backwards (last name/first name), or name and address.
     
  • Select which columns to display in the database table.  If you do not utilize all the columns available, you can choose to hide certain columns.  You can even choose to arrange them in a different order!  We provide 3 extra data fields to be customized with any needed data, i.e., dictator I.D.'s, identifying residents/fellows, short notes (do not cc certain doctors on reports, any name changes, requires co-signer), etc.
     
  • Share database tables with other D-List users.  If you wish to share databases with other co-workers or friends, you can easily import or export the tables, which saves you the time of having to enter the information yourself!
     
  • For each new table you create, you will have a corresponding table for places of interest.  Click the tabs labeled Doctors and Places to switch between the two tables.
     
  • Create different custom formats.  If there is a particular format you need created,
    D-List can now create and store different formats, i.e., for letters, envelopes, carbon copies--it's endless!
     
  • A new button has been added specifically for the custom formats.  Select from the list of custom formats to insert the entry into the document.
     
  • Places of Interest now has more entry fields available--the address is now expanded to include address, city, state, and zip fields to allow for custom formatting.  Also, there are additional entry fields for fax, phone, and one miscellaneous field.
