Here you will find instructions macro & shortcut key setup for Word, as well as shortcut setup for WordPerfect.  Both programs require use of a shortcut key to launch D-List from within the respective programs.  A macro is included in the setup for Word; however, you depending upon security settings, this may fail.  Also, instructions for creating a toolbar button for D-List are included; this is not a requirement, but some may prefer to have a button as a backup.

CREATE MACRO
A macro has already been created for you during setup; all you have to do is assign which shortcut key you wish to use.  However, in some instances, macro creation will fail according to your macro security settings--this prevents viruses from being launched through macros.  A macro needs to be created to allow D-List to be launched from within Word, essentially so it can recognize if Word or WordPerfect is running and which to insert into.  After inserting information from D-List, the program screen disappears, while still running in the background; this eliminates a cluttered taskbar and allows the program to have quicker access to information as it doesn't have to re-load each time you open it.

For Microsoft Word:
1.  Select ToolsMacro Macros
2.  In the Macro Name box, type in the name of the macro to create, i.e., DList.  Click Create.
3.  The Microsoft Visual Basic window will open.  The newly created macro will appear at the bottom of the list.
4.  In the blank line directly above End Sub, copy and paste the following line:
          Shell "c:\Program Files\Transcription Galaxy\Dlist\dlist.exe -wd", vbNormalFocus
(Reminder:  If you changed the path where the program is saved to, then change the path for the macro accordingly.)
 5.  Click Save and Exit.
 6.  To verify that the Macro works, select ToolsMacroMacros.  Select the macro from the list. Click Run.
The program should then open.
 7.  Once the macro is set up, it's encouraged that you create a shortcut key.  See below for details.

For Corel WordPerfect:
See steps on creating a shortcut key.  (WordPerfect creates a program shortcut rather than creating a macro.)

SHORTCUT KEY:  It is extremely useful to create a shortcut key in Word/WordPerfect, such as a function key, to open up D-List. According to your security settings, macro setup may have failed on installation.  Please first install a macro according to the instructions above and then proceed to creating a shortcut key.  Please note:  Instructions may vary slightly according to which version of Word/WordPerfect you are using.  For more instructions, please refer to the Help guide for those programs.

For Microsoft Word:
1.  Select Tools Customize
2.  Select the Commands tab and select the Keyboard button at the bottom.

4.  Under the Macros window, select DList
5.  Click in the text area for Press New Shortcut Key.  Press the key(s) for which shortcut key you wish to use (function keys work best).  After you press the key(s), it will tell you what the shortcut key is current assigned for, in case you do not want to override an existing useful shortcut key.
6.  Underneath the Save Changes In box, make sure Normal is selected.  Click Assign
7.  Go back to the main window in Word and press the shortcut key to test it.

For Corel WordPerfect:
1.  Click ToolsSettings.  Click Customize.
2.  In the Customize settings dialog box, click the Keyboards tab.
3.  Choose a keyboard from the Available keyboards list. (which version of WordPerfect).  Click Edit.

5.  In the Open file dialog box, select a program to be run when the shortcut key is pressed.  (D-List will be saved to C://Program Files/Transcription Galaxy/D-List by default)
